Spain is known for some of the best beaches in Europe. Before you make your way to Spain it is a good idea to read through this list of best Spanish beaches in the Alicante and Murcia region. Our list counts 5 best beaches. Our top 5 beaches are (in no particular order):

  • La Mata beach
  • Mil Palmeras beach
  • Torre de la Horradada beach
  • La Zenia beach
  • Santiago de la Ribera beach, Playa de Barnuevo

La Mata beach

Location: https://goo.gl/maps/wE8PR74iPidQwwbs5

This beach has sand dunes and a wooden walkway. A very calm area not far from La Mata park (https://goo.gl/maps/8BFQggun1QNcchzs5). During the months March to April it can get windy so make sure you have the appropriate clothing. Not as many facilities here as other beaches so it is advisable to bring along your own parasol and chairs. It is always clean (the local authorities do a great job in maintaining the beach and surrounding areas) and the restaurants and cafes have a good selection of snacks and drinks. Nearby is a square with the restaurants and a child play area.

Mil Palmeras beach

Location: https://goo.gl/maps/2AFkTFJdNrt81yrj7

This is another fantastic family-friendly clean beach with free parking. The road leading down to the beach has many bars and restaurants. The sea has a very gradual slope, plenty of food and drinks available. In the sea there is an obstacle course for kids to play on (a paid service). paddle boats, parasols and sun loungers for rent. After August it can be lovely and quiet beach. Without a doubt, it will never disappoint!

Torre de la Horradada beach

Location: https://goo.gl/maps/JVogs4vA5jZBTdt58

Even-though this beach has plenty of parking space, during the months of July and August it can get very busy. The facilities on this beach are what you can expect on a good beach. Toilets, bars, restaurants, parasol rental, sun loungers, etc. A very large wide open beach.

La Zenia beach (a personal favorite!)

Location: https://goo.gl/maps/UCBjnZiB7UF87Ea27

This beach has fantastic access, loads of facilities and close the Europes largest outdoor shopping center ‘ Zenia Boulevard’. This beach can be really busy with locals and holiday makers. Very close to AP7 turn-off. An ideal beach if you want to have a day at the beach, wash yourself down with the fresh tap water, put on some fresh clothes and head down to Zenia Boulevard for a bit of shopping or visit one of the many restaurants there. After dinner head over to Hagendaz or Smöoy ice cream parlour. Kids can enjoy some bowling (ground floor), soft play park or little rides. A perfect day out for the whole family.

Santiago de la ribera: Playa de Barnuevo

Location: https://goo.gl/maps/Mtn7gxUaZkHro5Rw7

This beach is great because the beach is long and deep and the sand is amazing. This beach is perfect for families with small children or people that don’t feel confident in the water that is rough. This beach has very calm waters and the slope os very gradual. All the facilities are perfect on this beach. There are cafe’s, restaurant, parasols, sun loungers, marina, kids climbing frame, football pitch with goals. This beach is popular amongst the locals. On the promenade there are ice cream parlours and mobile churros stands.
